Welcome to the Hockey Section
We pride ourselves on being inclusive, diverse and making players of all age and abilities feel really welcome and being a part of our big hockey family.
We have great facilities at The Northern Club including a secure, floodlit hockey astroturf which also has an undercover viewing area called the Tiffin. The pitch is situated across from our great club house with bar, function room and outdoor seating for when the sun shines.
We have hockey sessions going on nearly all year round which both Northern Club members and non-members can get involved with.
All our sessions are run by qualified, enthusiastic, DBS checked coaches, who focus on delivering England Hockey’s Golden Thread coaching approaches but most importantly they are committed to making sure sessions engaging, fun and create a great environment for people to make friends and enjoy the social side of hockey too!
What’s on offer at The Northern Hockey Club
SENIOR LEAGUE FIXTURES (14+)
We currently run 2 Men and 2 Ladies Senior Teams. Games are played mostly on Saturdays between September-April. To play league hockey you are required to be a club member, please visit the club membership page from the link in the menu. All match subs includes after game teas. Contact us for more information, here.
REGULAR JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS
There is no formal local junior league at the moment but once a month we try to arrange a 4-aside and 7-aside fixture(s) and festival tournaments with other clubs in the area, which are always great events.
SUMMER LEAGUE AND FRIENDLIES
We enjoy hosting mixed 7-aside (age 13+) Summer leagues, which we encourage local clubs to enter if you want to enjoy some informal and social hockey. This is a great way to support our juniors to transition to senior games ready for their first league season!
