Further to the Government’s announcement on the 30th December that Liverpool City Region is to be placed in Tier 3 from midnight, it is with great regret that we must close the clubhouse and bar until further notice.
Though the club will be closed from tomorrow onwards, under Tier 3 outdoor sports, and indoor sports in a household bubble, can continue, with exemptions for organised sports indoors for under 18s and disabled sports etc.
With the additional announcements of the Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine roll-out beginning next week, and the additional restrictions announced today, we must hope that the recent acceleration in the spread of the coronavirus is contained and that we are under these restrictions for as short a time as possible. Realistically, it is likely to be several weeks at least before we are able to reopen, and we will need to furlough staff once again, and minimise our costs accordingly.
This is not the way we hoped to welcome in 2021. However, we look forward to the New Year bringing us the vaccinations for the population to allow us to get back to some sort of normality by spring or early summer. Let us hope so, and in that hope let me wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.
