We are delighted to announce that 1st team player Chris Laker has agreed to take up the role of Director of Cricket at the Northern Club. Chris has been part of the Northern family for over 5 years now, and has all tools to push our thriving Cricket section on over the coming years. For those who know Chris, he is a much respected young man, and his appetite for success and developing talent is second to none – He is pretty handy at playing Cricket also, amassing over 1000 league runs this season!
The 2019 Lancashire Young Coach of the Year winner will work with the Cricket chairs from both the Mens & Women sections to develop an updated framework for the future of our great club.
Chris said “I am delighted to accept the role of Director of Cricket at the Northern Club. Northern is close to my heart having played here for 6 years. During that time, I have gotten to know and work with some brilliant people who are currently helping to develop our Cricketers at all levels.
I am looking forward to supporting the club with its development moving forwards into 2023 and beyond; focusing on player development in all areas of our club, a coaching structure that supports the needs of our Cricketers, and providing opportunities for more home grown players to reach first team level.“
We wish Chris all the best in his extended role at the club, we are all fully behind you!
