The Northern Club bowls section recently opened the greens for the new season when respective ladies’ and men’s captains Janette and Paul Burridge sent the first woods out onto the old green. Blessed by good weather, an excellent turn-out of bowlers enjoyed a round – robin mixed competition. Both greens were needed to accommodate 34 bowlers.
The competition was won by Alex Anderson and Janette Burridge with Fiona Hollis and John O’Hanlon runners-up. By common consent, an excellent afternoon was had by all and the section looks forward to a great season ahead.
